JAKE SWONKE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 12th through Sunday, September 18th.
Swonke had an incredibly productive and efficient opening week of SCAC play with 2 goals and 3 assists for 7 points on just 4 shots.
Swonke supplied the game winning goal against Austin College and provided the assist for another game-winning goal against Texas Lutheran.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman defender Eduardo Lopez-Rivera of Texas Lutheran University knocked home the game-winner against Centenary in the second half of the Bulldogs' 1-0 home while also leading a Bulldog defensive effort that posted shutouts against Austin and Centenary. Junior defender Brent Mandelkorn of Trinity University had a goal and an assist against Colorado College on Friday night, as Trinity opened its SCAC schedule with a 2-1 victory.
