RYLAN WHAN OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior goalkeeper from McKinney, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 24th through Sunday, October 30th.
In the final game of his collegiate career, Whan grabbed 5 saves in a 1-0 win against Austin College for his sixth win of the season and fourth shutout.
Whan has finished his career with 404 saves.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior goalkeeper Theo Hooker of Colorado College stopped 4 shots while posting his ninth shutout of the season and the 25th of his career during a 1-0 victory at the University of Dallas on Saturday. First-year goalkeeper Victor Rodriguez of Texas Lutheran University made 6 saves in the Bulldogs' 2-1 win over Southwestern to secure the No. 3 seed in the upcoming SCAC Tournament. Sophomore defender Laurence Wyke of Trinity University led the Tigers to a pair of wins to finish off the regular season schedule. Wyke and the Trinity defense allowed just 7 total shots over the two games.
