VICTOR RODRIGUEZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a first-year goalkeeper from Monterrery, Mexico, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 17th through Sunday, October 23rd.
Rodriguez made 8 total saves, including 6 in the second half, to lead the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to a 3-2 upset win over No.1-ranked Trinity University.

Rodriguez had 3 saves in the final 17 minutes, following teammate Cameron Townes' go-ahead goal, with 2 saves coming in the final six minutes of action as Trinity pushed to equalize.
For the week, Rodriguez allowed just 2 goals in 174 minutes and 21 seconds of action. He played 84:21 of the 4-0 win over Schreiner and did not allow a goal in that match. He collected 10 total saves and posted 2 keeper wins during the week.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper Joseph Khalaf of Austin College was dominant in goal last week, surrendering just one goal in 200 minutes of action and notching a double overtime shutout against Dallas. Khalaf made 12 saves overall, including 7 in the draw with UD. Sophomore defender Keenan Amer of Colorado College was a force at both ends of the pitch while leading Colorado College to a pair of road victories last week. Defensively, CC's back line allowed just 12 total shots and five shots on goal while posting a 0.5 goals-against average during the two games. Senior defender Zac Treu of Trinity University led the Tigers to a road split over the weekend, posting a fourth-straight shutout on Friday against Southwestern, but then losing a 3-2 game at Texas Lutheran on Sunday. Treu and the Tigers allowed just 17 total shots in the two games, but gave up 3 goals in the loss on Sunday. Senior goalkeeper Rylan Whan of Centenary College recorded his third shutout of the season with 8 saves as Centenary knocked off Dallas 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. He also grabbed 10 saves against nationally-ranked Colorado College, and is now one save short of 400 for his career.
