LAURENCE WYKE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defender from Bolton, England, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 3rd through Sunday, October 9th. It is the second consecutive week that Wyke has earned Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors.

Wyke was once again instrumental in the top-ranked Tigers' road wins over the weekend, defeating #19 Colorado College and the University of Dallas.

He and the Tiger defense allowed just one goal all weekend, including a 4-0 shutout win over Dallas on Sunday - a game in which Trinity yielded just three shots.

Wyke also scored the equalizing goal in Friday's come-from-behind win over Colorado, tying the game in the 81st minute to set up the 2-1 victory.

Sophomore midfielder Juan Rameriz of Austin College had an outstanding weekend from his defensive midfield position, helping the 'Roos to a shutout victory of Texas Lutheran while also topping Southwestern 2-1. Against TLU, Ramirez also delivered the game winner, ripping a 20-yard shot into the back of the net in the second overtime period to lift the 'Roos to victory. First-year goalkeeper Victor Rodriguez of Texas Lutheran University recorded his first complete-match shutout in a 1-0 road win Sunday over Centenary. Rodriguez made three saves in the win.
