CORY SMITH OF
RHODES COLLEGE, a senior guard from Bartlett,
Tenn., has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games
played Monday, January 19 through Sunday, January 25.
Smith averaged 25 points per game and 6 rebounds
per game as the Lynx split two games, while picking up its first
conference win of the season. He connected on 14-27 from the field
and added fives assists.
In the win over Austin, Smith scored a team-high 24 points and tallied five rebounds while shooting 5-of-8 from the floor and made 14-of-17 from the free throw line. Against Colorado College he scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. His offensive rebound and put back at the end of the second half forced overtime, where the Lynx fell 79-77 to the Tigers.
