ZACHARY WHITLOCK OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from San Angelo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 15th through Sunday, February 21st.
Whitlock put up 23 points as Southwestern took down top seeded TLU 83-81. He shot 9-11 from the floor for 81.8% and was 5-6 from the free throw line.
Whitlock also added eight rebounds and one block. The Pirates hold the No. 3 seed heading into this weekend's conference tournament.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Zach Behr of Texas Lutheran scored 20 and shot 61.5 percent from the field in the Bulldogs' 83-81 road loss at Southwestern University. Sophomore guard Matt Jones of Trinity University hit the game-winning shot in the final seconds to lift Trinity over Schreiner. Junior forward James Sapp of Centenary College etched his conference leading 12th double-double in the win against Dallas Christian. Junior forward Alan Sullivan of Austin College averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and shooting 37.5% from long distance.
