JAMES LONERGAN OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior forward from Dallas, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 1st through Sunday, February 7th.

Lonergan was a force at both ends of the court as Colorado College defeated Dallas and Austin to take a half-game lead over TLU atop the conference standings and earn a bye for the first round of the SCAC tournament.

The senior forward made 13 of 17 shots from the floor to take over the league lead with an overall .582 field-goal percentage. With 14 rebounds during the two games, Lonergan also climbed into 25th place on the program's career rebounding list with 411. He scored 20 points during Sunday's 74-64 victory over Austin, the third time this season he has scored 20 or more points in a game. His team-leading totals of 280 points, 171 rebounds and 73 assists are all personal single-season highs.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Brian Baehl of Austin College  had a strong weekend for the 'Roos, scoring 23 points in each of the team's two games while shooting 54.5% from the field. Sophomore forward Ryan Ogden of Southwestern University averaged 19 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Pirates went 2-0 last week. Sophomore guard Matt Jones of Trinity University averaged 15.5 points/game over the weekend, shooting 12-20 (60%) from the field and 6-7 (85.7%) from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Travion Kirkendoll of Centenary College moved in to the top five in the conference, including leading among guards, with a pair of 17 point, 11 rebound games. Junior guard Sterling Holmes of Texas Lutheran University averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs.
