ROBERT KITZINGER OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from Carmel, Ind.,
has been selected the SCAC Men’s Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 20th
through Sunday, January 26th.
Kitzinger led Trinity to a pair of
SCAC road wins over the weekend, vaulting the Tigers into first
place in the SCAC standings.
Kitzinger averaged 26.5 points and 5.5
rebounds per game in victories over Dallas and Colorado College.
He shot an unbelievable 70.8% (17-24) from the field and hit
9-12 (75%) from beyond the arc for the weekend, as well as
connecting on all 10 of his free throw attempts.
On Friday night at
Dallas, Kitzinger scored a
team season-best and career-high 33 points to lead Trinity to a
narrow win, hitting 10-12 from the field and 5-6 from three-point
range and 8-8 from the foul line. He followed that with a
20-point night at Colorado on Saturday.
For the
season, Kitzinger leads
Trinity with 15.8 points/game and is now shooting 40.2% (80-199)
from the field. His 39 three-point buckets also lead the
Tigers, and he is connecting on 36.8% (39-106) from distance.
Kitzinger is also shooting a team-best 89.5% (85-95) from the
free throw line.
