NICK ROSE OF
COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior guard from Lakewood,
Colo., has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games
played Monday, January 4 through Sunday, January 10.
Rose averaged 32.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and
1.0 steals per game while leading Colorado College to victories
over Austin College and Johnson & Wales University. He shot
.656 from the floor (21-32) and 1.000 from the free-throw line
(21-21) during the two games.
Rose scored a career-high 34 points and added five rebounds, two steals and an assist during Saturday's 93-89 victory over the Kangaroos. He came back with 31 points, seven rebounds and three assists the following day in the 84-75 victory over the Wildcats. Rose shot a career-high .667 from the floor and made all 10 of his free-throw attempts.
Rose became the 33rd player in school history to eclipse the 700-point barrier and finished the weekend No. 32 with 714 career points.
