COLBY DOYAL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior placekicker from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, September 10th.
Doyal made all four of his kicks for the Tigers on Saturday, but the road team came up short in a 24-20 loss to Millsaps College.
Doyal connected on field goals of 41 and 33 yards in the game, and also converted both PAT attempts on the day. His 41-yard field goal put Trinity on the board in the second quarter, and his 33-yard kick came with just 12 seconds remaining until halftime - cutting the Millsaps lead to 17-13.
Saturday's field goals were the first this season for the junior kicker, and he is now 6-7 on extra-point attempts on the year. The 41-yard field goal was the longest for a Trinity kicker since Nov. 3, 2012.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman receiver Joshua Scruggs of Texan Lutheran University returned three kickoffs for 102 yards, for an average of 34 yards per return, with a long of 40, in the home loss to No. 5 UMHB.
