CODY CROWDER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior outfielder from Shepherd, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Saturday, February 1 through Sunday, February 9. 

Crowder led the Gents to three wins over the weekend to open the season as he batted .400 (4-10) with three home runs, six RBI, six runs scored, and three walks. He hit two home runs in a 12-5 victory in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Centenary opened its season with a 5-3 win on Friday against ETBU on the road, a game in which Crowder also homered, and then the Gents blanked the Tigers 7-0 in game one of the DH Saturday. 

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior first baseman Zachary Taylor of Dallas collected nine RBIs and hit .357 to lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 mark on their opening weekend at Sul Ross State. Taylor drove in seven runs on the doubleheader sweep on February 1 and added five hits, including a 3-for-3 performance in the opening day win. He also posted two runs scored, two doubles, and two stolen bases. Reece Hohhertz of Schreiner helped lead the Mountaineers to a 1-1-1 weekend vs. McMurry going 8-for-14 (.571) with two doubles, three RBIs and six runs scored. Junior second baseman Noah Martinez of St. Thomas scored the first run (and hit the first home run) in the modern era of UST baseball when he knocked a solo home run in the team's opening game on Feb. 1. Against Howard Payne, he recorded hits in every game, including a triple in Saturday's 11-7 win. He has hits in six of the team's seven games, and is hitting .409 with an OBP of .500. Senior outfielder Tyler Cauley of Texas Lutheran drove in five runs over three games at the Rusty Green/Jackie Moore Classic. Cauley belted a three-run home run in the 11-8 loss to Methodist, and he had two RBI, two runs scored, and two walks in the 12-2 victory over Hendrix in the Bulldogs' first game of the Classic. He hit .333 for the week with a .571 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage.
