JEREMY WOLF OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior outfielder from Scottsdale, Ariz., has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 14th through Sunday, March 20th.
Wolf led the second-ranked Tiger baseball team to a 4-0 record last week, including a three-game SCAC weekend sweep at home against the University of Dallas. Wolf hit .545 (6-11) overall last week, as well as going 4-8 (.500) against Dallas. He finished with five extra-base hits in the four games, cracking four doubles and a home run for a 1.182 slugging percentage. Wolf added seven runs and five RBI overall, as well as five runs scored and two RBI in the Dallas series.
In addition to his average, Wolf also drew six walks for an on-base percentage of .706 for the week. Four of those walks came in the three-game SCAC series, pushing his on-base percentage to .667 on the weekend. The week began with a 2-3 performance in a comeback win over Denison on Monday, scoring two runs and driving in three more on a first-inning homer. Wolf had a double in each of the three games against Dallas, culminating with a pair of doubles in a 2-3 performance in which he drove in two more runs. He scored twice in each of the first two games of the series against Dallas, and had a hit in all four games this week.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outfielder Riley Schaefer of Texas Lutheran started in all five games and hit. 500 with 10 runs scored as the Bulldogs went 4-1 during Spring Break. Freshman Oscar Gonzalez of Austin College had a strong weekend for the 'Roos, collecting seven hits in three games and batting .583 while scoring four runs. Senior outfielder Dakota Brown of Centenary College had a solid weekend from the plate, recording three hits in ever game and multiple RBI's in every game.
