Jeremy Wolf, Trinity University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 3)

JEREMY WOLF OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior outfielder from Scottsdale, Ariz., has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 15th through Sunday February 21st. 

Wolf led seventh-ranked Trinity to a 3-1 record last week, including a three-game weekend sweep of the University of Texas-Dallas. Wolf batted .444 (8-18) for the week, picking up four RBI and three runs scored for the Tigers. Among his eight hits, he had five doubles and a home run, pushing his slugging percentage to .889 for the week. He finished the week especially strong, going 6-9 (.667) in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday.

In game one of the doubleheader, Wolf went 4-4 with two doubles and a game-tying home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Trailing 7-6 in the seven-inning game, Wolf crushed the long ball over the wall in right-center, setting up the walk-off win just three batters later.

In the second game, Wolf picked up two more doubles with a 2-5 performance that sparked the team to an 11-4 win. For the season, Wolf is batting .355 (11-31) with seven RBI, eight runs scored, and a team-leading seven doubles. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore first baseman Scott Gelbart of Austin College hit .545 with a 1.090 slugging percentage as the 'Roos swept the University of the Southwest. Junior first baseman Ethan Luna of Southwestern (Tex.) hit .462 (6-for-13) with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs in the series against Centenary. Senior first baseman Justin Law of Texas Lutheran hit .429 with six RBI in the Bulldogs' 3-1 week. Junior outfielder Michael Schimpf of Centenary College helped Centenary sweep the double header to take the series from Southwestern, including a 4-for-4 game two with three RBI's and runs scored.
