JAMES ARGUELLO OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a junior outfielder from Phoenix, Ariz., has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 8th through Sunday February 14th.
Arguello got off to a strong start at the plate in Austin College's first four games, batting .500 with two doubles, a triple, four runs batted in, a .833 slugging percentage, and a .600 on base percentage. He also added two stolen bases to help the 'Roos go 3-1.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman outfielder Cameron Guin of Centenary College went 2-for-4 with four RBI's and two runs scored against #20 UT Tyler. Senior infielder Marco Carreon of Schreiner helped the Mountanieers to a 1-2 week with a .571 avg (8 for 14), 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs. Junior first baseman Ethan Luna of Southwestern hit .429 (3-for-7) over a three-game stretch for Southwestern last week. Senior infielder Connor Moore of Trinity started off the season by picking up two multi-hit games, and posting an overall average of .538 (7-13) for the weekend. Sophomore outfielder Riley Schaefer of Texas Lutheran reached base 69.2 percent of the time and hit .500 with five runs scored as the Bulldogs went 2-1 at the UT Tyler Clements Fluid Classic.
