JOE NASH OF
CENTRE COLLEGE, a 6-1, 182-pound junior
right-hander from Elizabethtown, Ky., has been selected the SCAC
Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 4
through Sunday, April 10.
Nash tossed his first complete-game shutout
victory of his career in a 10-0 win in game one of a critical
three-game series against Sewanee. It is the third complete game of
the season and fifth of his career for Nash, who
limited the league’s top offense entering the weekend to only
five hits (four singles and one double) and did not allow a runner
to reach third base.
In addition, Nash struck out eight batters
and did not walk a batter in seven innings of work. He has now won
three-straight conference games and improved to 4-4 on the year,
while lowering his earned run average to 3.59 in 52.2 innings of
work.
