BOOMER HUDSON
OF MILLSAPS COLLEGE, a 6-1, 180-pound junior
right-hander from Douglasville, Ga., has been selected the SCAC
Baseball Co- Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday,
March 1 through Sunday, March 7.
Hudson came to the rescue for the Majors in both
games against Austin College over the weekend. He recorded his
first save of the season on Saturday pitching 4 2/3 innings while
allowing no runs and just one hit and retired the last 10 batters
he faced.
Sunday afternoon, Hudson entered the game with the
bases loaded and promptly got a fly ball out before striking out
the final batter to earn the save. Hudson pitched
5 1/3 innings allowing just one hit while striking out six and
holding the ‘Roos to a dismal .059 batting average.
