BRANDON RICCO
OF BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN COLLEGE, a 6-0, 200-pound
junior second baseman from Helena, Ala., has been named the SCAC
Offensive Baseball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday,
April 12 through Sunday, April 18.
In five games, Ricco hit a robust 16-for-23 at the
plate for a.565 batting average while driving in 16 runs, hitting
three homeruns and scoring nine runs on the week. He also hit three
doubles and one triple during the week.
He also posted a 1.174 slugging percentage to go along with an on base percentage of .565 to tally a 1.739 OPS (on base plus slugging percentage). Jones homered in two of three SCAC games during the week and also tallied multi-hit games in three of his five games.
For the week, Jones posted a .600 batting average (9-for-15) against SCAC competition. He also added six runs, 12 RBI, two homeruns, two doubles and one triple in three league games. He posted a 1.867 OPS in SCAC play during the week.
