ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oglethorpe baseball team will
wear pink warm-up shirts for this weekend's games versus Rhodes
College on the Brookhaven campus in support of breast cancer
awareness. The team invites members of the Oglethorpe community in
attendance to wear pink to help promote the National Cancer
Society's "Think Pink" initiative raising awareness in the fight
against breast cancer.
The weekend activities begin with the annual Oglethorpe alumni
baseball game on Anderson Field at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9
followed by a scheduled doubleheader of collegiate baseball
featuring the Stormy Petrels versus the Rhodes College Lynx. First
pitch for Saturday's twin bill is slated for 4:00 p.m.
On Sunday, the Petrels will continue their support of breast cancer
awareness prior to a noon first pitch in the series finale versus
Rhodes. Pregame introductions will also feature a Senior Day
celebration to honor Oglethorpe's baseball seniors who will
graduate in May. Additionally, the Oglethorpe Student Government
Association is sponsoring food from the Varsity for the first 200
hundred students in attendance with a Petrel Pass.
