Danielle Percival joined the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference staff in July 2025 already recognized as one of the nation’s top communications professionals.
Percival spent 11 years at Piedmont University, most recently serving as the institution's Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. She began with the Lions in the fall of 2014 as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications before being promoted to Director in the summer of 2017. Percival's promotion to Assistant A.D. came in the fall of 2019.
In her role as the head of the office of athletic communications, Percival oversaw a full-time assistant along with interns and a student work staff. Her office was responsible for all home event game management, statistics, website management and social media platforms across Piedmont athletics.
In the spring of 2020, Percival was named the 2020 CoSIDA Rising Star award winner for the College Division. The Rising Star award honors those with 10 years or less of service whose work at their institution and service, dedication, energy and enthusiasm to the profession make that individual a "rising star" in athletic communications.
In the summer of 2019, Percival expanded her role within CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) as she was elected a member of the CoSIDA Board of Directors. She served a three-year term on that board, helping set policy across all levels of the collegiate athletics profession.
Outside of athletic communications, Percival has prior experience as a sideline reporter with ESPN and Raycom Sports. Percival worked with ESPN as the Sun Belt Conference Game of the Week sideline reporter in 2014 and 2015 while serving in the same role at the Sun Belt Conference Basketball Tournament in March 2015. She also served as the sideline reporter for the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Super 7 State Football Championships from 2015-2017.
A graduate of Troy University, Percival worked as a reporter and anchor for the Trojans athletics program with Troy University Television while also collaborating with the Sun Belt Conference. She was called upon by the league to provide play-by-play for the quarterfinals and semifinals of the 2013 Sun Belt Volleyball Championships. The following summer in 2014, she served as the host of the Social Suite in New Orleans for Sun Belt Football Media Days.
A native of Wetumka, Alabama, Percival earned her bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Sports Information in 2014. She was named to the Troy University Chancellor's List for carrying a 4.0 GPA.
