Amanda Combs, Schreiner University, Volleyball

AMANDA COMBS OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior middle/outside hitter on the women's volleyball team from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning December 16.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.



Combs has been a vital cog for the Mountaineers' volleyball program the past three seasons, including the 2019 campaign when she finished second on the team with 261 kills and points per set (2.6). Her 163 kills in conference play were the 10th most in the league.

Along with her work on the court, Amanda has made several contributions off it. Since arriving in Kerrville, An Exercise Science major and SCAC Academic Honor Roll recipient, Amanda has been involved in serving within the Mountaineer Leadership Academy (MLA) and as a Schreiner Ambassador.

Through her involvement in MLA, Amanda has become a leader/mentor both on campus and in the Kerrville community. She regularly assists students in their transition into college and promotes the University in the Hill Country area.

As a Schreiner Ambassador, Amanda leads campus tours while telling the Schreiner story and answering questions about college life.
