KARA MILLER OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a sophomore on the Mountaineers' women's tennis team, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Female Character and Community Award Winner for the week beginning April 17, 2017.
The SCAC honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
Miller has been a vital part of the Mountaineers success the past two seasons. Along with her work on the court, she has made several contributions off the court, also. Since arriving in Kerrville, Miller has become involved in serving in many organizations such as the Schreiner Ambassadors, Mountaineer Mentors, an LSS note taker, and has been a consistent member of the Schreiner President’s List.
Some of the volunteer work that Miller has been involved with through her sorority include raising funds for causes such as Cystic Fibrosis and Anorexia Nervosa.
