Charles Clark, Trinity University, Men's Swimming

CHARLES CLARK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior of the Tigers' swimming and diving team, has been chosen as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week beginning February 13, 2017.

The SCAC honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

 

 

The Stillwater, Oklahoma, resident is versatile, and exhibits a strong sense of volunteerism.

Clark frequently volunteers through his Trinity fraternity, Phi Sigma Chi, and the Trinity University Volunteer Action Community. He has organized a number of service events, including with the San Antonio Food Bank, Silver and Black Give Back, and the San Antonio Youth Center.

Back home in Stillwater, Clark participated in a mentorship program with third-graders. He also organized events for a charity which raised over $70,000 in the course of two years. Clark utilized his swimming prowess by serving as an assistant coach for the Stillwater YMCA Shockers, who ranged in age from 5-18 years. He also was an administrative assistant at Stillwater’s Sylvan Learning Center.

Clark is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in business analytics and technology. He has worked as a bid analyst intern for Ace Mart Restaurant Supply since May 2016.

In 2016, Clark played a major role in the Tiger men’s swimming & diving team’s SCAC Championship. Clark earned All-SCAC accolades in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke, and the 200-yard individual medley. Additionally, Clark was named to the 2016 SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team. The previous year, Clark became an All-SCAC swimmer in the 100-yard backstroke.
