JIMMY CLARK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior on the men’s basketball team, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week beginning January 18, 2016

The SCAC honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

The 6-foot-3 Clark meets all of the criteria, and then some.

Clark, who hails from Rockford, Illinois, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity in May 2015, with a major in business administration, and a finance concentration. Clark also had a second interdisciplinary major in global health management. The outstanding student was a member of Trinity’s Dean’s List, the SCAC Academic Honor Roll, and twice was named a National Association of Basketball Coaches Association Honors Court recipient.

Currently pursuing a Master of Health Care Administration degree from Trinity, Clark was presented the Community Health Systems Scholarship. He expects to complete the prestigious program in 2017. In his hometown, Clark was a summer finance intern at the Rockford Memorial Hospital. Earlier, Clark was a child supervisor at the PEAK Sports Club in Loves Park, Illinois, and also served as a personal basketball trainer.

But basketball and academic pursuits are not all that make up the versatile Clark. He is also engaged in the community, and is always ready to lend a helping hand.

Clark has volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank, with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and helped coach his uncle’s local youth club basketball team. Additionally, Clark was a member of the Trinity University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the “student voice” on campus, which also participates in a number of community projects.
