LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Half of the 10 SCAC women’s cross country teams were in action last week, led by Dallas sophomore Anna Wilgenbusch winning her second straight 5K at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational.
As a team, Dallas finished third out of six squads with 66 total team points. Wilgenbusch set a new personal record by over a minute in her winning effort, crossing the line in 17:53.4. The Crusaders placed two in the top-10 as Emma Kate Callahan finished eighth, with a time of 20:30.6.
Schreiner, Southwestern, Texas Lutheran and Trinity all competed at the OLLU Saints Collegiate Invitational last Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.
Trinity took home second out of 11 teams to lead all SCAC squads with 44 team points. The Tigers placed three individuals in the top-10 led by junior Jordan Juran finishing fourth with a 6K time of 23:40.7. Anna King clocked in at seventh (24:23.5) and Brianna Ratliff claimed ninth (24:27.9).
TLU finished sixth as a team with a total of 167 points. The Bulldogs were led by senior Kylee Garcia finishing just outside the top-10, snagging 12th with a time of 24:47.8.
Southwestern was paced by freshman Emma Pertuit’s 31st-place finish with a time of 26:08.0 and Schreiner was led by sophomore Sarah Enders finishing 66th, crossing the line in 29:15.1. Neither team registered a team score.
SCAC Men’s Cross-Country action continues this week with five teams in action, highlighted by Schreiner, St. Thomas and TLU competing at the Concordia Classic on Friday and Colorado College and Johnson & Wales traveling to New Mexico for the Highlands XC Jam on Saturday.
