JACI CHAMBERS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore libero from Baytown, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 22.

This is the second player of the week honor for Chambers this season.

In four conference matches over the weekend, Chambers averaged 6.40 digs per game as the Bulldogs went 3-1 at the SCAC Cross-Divisional Tournament.

Chambers hit the 30-dig mark in three-set win over University of Dallas, the eighth time in conference history a player had 30 or more digs in a 3-set game. 

Chambers had double-digit digs in all five matches on the week, notably 23 digs against Austin, 19 against Colorado College and 24 against Centenary.

Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Senior middle hitter Glenna Yancey of Colorado College had four blocked shots in the thrilling five set game against No. 3 Southwestern University. Senior defensive specialist Tatiana Ferrari of Austin College averaged 5.86 digs per set and had 82 digs in the 'Roos four games on the weekend. Junior defensive specialist Brandi Campos of Southwestern University hit double digits in all four games for the Pirates, including 24 in the five-set game against No. 2 Colorado College. Junior outside hitter Sarah Mullens of Trinity University reached double figures in two of the four matches, highlighted by a 22-dig performance in Sunday's win over Austin. The 22 digs are the most by a Tiger player this season in a three-set match.
