KARLIE DELHOMMER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman goalkeeper from St. Amant, La., has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 6th.
Delhommer played all 104 minutes of the Ladies’ thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Johnson & Wales last Friday at home, collecting five saves and securing three points in the league standings to open SCAC play. Her performance secured a perfect 2-0 record for Centenary in overtime contests and 5-0 in one goal matches.
Delhommer earned her ninth victory of the season and posted her third shutout. In her nine starts this season she has allowed one goal or less in seven of nine games and she ranks third in the SCAC in shutouts and goals against average. The Ladies are currently tied for second in the SCAC standings and are the only undefeated team overall (9-0) in the conference as they continue their best start in program history.

Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Futch of St. Thomas improved her overall season record to 4-1-1 after she backstopped the Celts to a 2-1 victory over Johnson & Wales last Sunday. Freshman defender Nyah Shepherd of Trinity led the Tigers to a shutout victory against Schreiner last Friday in which the backline limited the Mountaineer offense to just one shot in the game.
