
MALORIE LARA OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from Austin, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, October 12th through Sunday, October 18th.
In just one game this weekend, Lara scored three goals including the game winner, (a hat trick against the University of Dallas). She took four shots with all four being on frame for a remarkable 1.000 shots on goal percentage and .750 shot percentage. Southwestern defeated Dallas 4-2.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman midfielder Mariana Burciaga of the University of Dallas netted her first career goal and was also the game-winner in a 1-0 overtime win against Texas Lutheran last week. Freshman forward Kyli Harey of Schreiner University helped the Mountaineers to a 2-0 SCAC week with two goals. Junior forward Hannah Hommel of Trinity University tallied three goals and an assist over two games.
