Cailee Morgan, Schreiner University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 2)

CAILEE MORGAN OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a freshman forward from Pearland, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Friday, September 11th through Saturday, September 12th. 

Morgan helped lead the Mountaineers to two shutout victories over Howard Payne and Sul Ross St. with a goal in each match.

Behind Morgan and the rest of the Mountaineers, Schreiner improves to 3-1-1. The team opens conference play on September 15th against Trinity University. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Julia Camp of Trinity University buried the only goal of the game for Trinity in the 16th minute, which ensured the tie after Pomona's second-half goal. It marked the first goal of the young season for Camp. Sophomore forward, Erin Eckart of Austin College scored two goals, including a game winner, to help Austin College to a 1-1-1 record in three matches. Senior forward, Sioned Kirkpatrick of Texas Lutheran University scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute of a 2-1 home win over Huston-Tillotson on Sunday. Kirkpatrick also assisted on TLU's first goal of the match. Junior midfielder, Hayley Miesse of Southwestern University scored two goals this week for four points. She took a team high seven shots with four being on frame for a .571 shots on goal percentage and .286 shot percentage.
