RACHEL BRANNEN
OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a freshman defender from Ft.
Mitchell, Ky., has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 28
through Sunday, October 4.
Brannen played two solid matches for Centre this
weekend. Friday night, she helped the Colonels to a 2-1 win over
Austin. Brannen earned a team save when she
cleared a ball off the goal-line, stopping the Roo's attempt at an
equalizing goal.
On Saturday evening against the University of Dallas,
Brannen earned her first collegiate goal - and the
game winner - in the 22nd minute of play when she tucked-away a
penalty kick. The Colonels would go on to win the game 3-0 and
allow only one shot during the match.
