Ann Savage, Austin College, Player of the Week (Week 6)

ANN SAVAGE OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior guard from Tulsa, Okla., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, December 10 through Sunday, December 16. 

Savage was incredibly efficient for the Roos’ shooting 69.2 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from three-point range, which led the league in both categories in week six. The senior guard led her team to two victories last week averaging 15.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals. 

Other Outstanding Performances:

Sophomore guard McKenzee Gertz lifted Colorado College to a 1-1 record last week posting 19.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game. Centenary forward Bre Frierson put away a career-high 18 points in the Ladies’ win over LeTourneau on Saturday. Junior forward Abby Holland paced Trinity with 12 points and eight rebounds in the Tigers’ win over Augsburg. Texas Lutheran forward Abby Hroch guided the Bulldogs to a pair of conference victories over Johnson & Wales and Colorado College averaging 14.0 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per games. Against the Wildcats, the sophomore scored 12 points in 12 minutes of play. Junior center Cecily Woolfolk shot 61.9 percent from the field for Southwestern last week and collected her fourth double-double of the season in the Pirates’ loss to Colorado College.
