Austin College's Savage Named SCAC Women's Basketball Elite 19 Award Recipient

KERRVILLE, Texas -- In a announcement made Saturday evening at the conference tournament, Austin College's Ann Savage was named the 2020 SCAC Women's Basketball Elite 19 award winner.

It is the second consecutive year that Savage has won the award and she joins Mary Cardone of Southwestern University - who won the award twice for Women's Soccer and once for Women's Tennis - as the only repeat winners in the award's short history.

Savage, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., currently holds a 3.962 GPA as a Math major and was an All-SCAC second team selection on this year's all-conference women's basketball team.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First or Second Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
