Sophomore right-hander Jordan Arce of Trinity picked up a win and a save in two appearances last weekend, leading the Tiger softball team to a three-game SCAC series sweep at home against Southwestern. Arce earned a complete-game victory in game one of the series on Friday night, allowing just one run and striking out five batters. She then came back in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader, getting the final out with the tying run at-bat to earn the save and clinch the series win. Sophomore right-hander Alli Hughes of St. Thomas was key in the Celts' three-game SCAC sweep over Schreiner, setting the tone with a complete game victory in the series opener. The sophomore allowed just four hits and one earned run while striking out seven. Junior right-hander Alexus Johnson of Austin College went 2-0 in the circle for the 'Roos with a pair of complete game victories. The victories were her seventh and eighth of the season, establishing the second-highest total in a single season in 'Roo softball history. Johnson had six strikeouts and a 3.50 ERA over 14.0 innings of work.
