MAITLIN RAYCROFT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, March 19th.

Raycroft earns her third consecutive Pitcher of the Week honor after throwing her fourth no-hitter of the year. This is the fourth overall honor for Raycroft this season.

Raycroft threw the six-inning no-hitter Friday against Indiana Tech, striking out nine batters in the game. She followed up the outstanding performance with a 5.0 inning two-hit shutout on Saturday.

In the two games against Indiana Tech, Raycroft struck out 13 and walked just one. She lifted her scoreless streak to 35 innings and is now just one no-hitter shy of tying the NCAA Division III record for single-season no-hitters thrown.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore right-hander Nichole Aldridge of Centenary College appeared in all four games this weekend, bookending the series with complete game wins. She also picked up her second collegiate save in game three, when she forced a foul fly of Austin College's Kat Williams. Senior right-hander Katie Lee of the University of Dallas picked up two wins and logged 17.1 innings, including two starts, over three appearances this past week in Florida. Lee earned a win tossing 3.2 innings of relief to help the Crusaders hold onto a 9-7, 8-inning victory against University of Scranton. The senior right-hander followed that performance with her best one of the season, not allowing an earned run on a season-low four hits. Sophomore right-hander Chandler Smith of Southwestern University recorded two starts and threw a complete game shutout against Endicott. For the week, she allowed 7 hits in 12 innings of work with two earned runs and six strikeouts for a 1.17 ERA. Senior right-hander Katie Castillon of Trinity University led the Tiger softball team to a 6-2 record last week, appearing in five of the team's eight games, and collecting four wins. Castillon allowed just 10 earned runs in 28 innings pitched for a 2.50 ERA. She recorded 20 strikeouts and held opposing hitters to a .221 batting average for the week.
