MAITLIN RAYCROFT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through March 5th.
Raycroft tossed her second consecutive no-hitter in the Bulldogs' 3-0 home win over Southwestern University.
Raycroft just missed a perfect game, walking on batter through the seven-inning performance. She struck out 13 in the game. This was the 16th no-hitter in TLU Softball history.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Nichole Aldridge of Centenary College had a complete game win Thursday, giving up just one earned run and striking out four. Junior Jessica Vrana of Schreiner University gave up just three earned runs in 12.1 innings last week, striking out 11. Senior Katie Glomb of Trinity University went 1-1 last week, pitching 11.0 innings and striking out six, while recording an ERA of 3.18.
