Austin College fell in each of its three games against No. 3 Trinity over the weekend, falling 9-1, 3-2 in extra innings, and 9-3. The 'Roos nearly pulled off the upset in game two, placing a runner on third in the bottom of the seventh, but they were unable to get the walk off win and ultimately fell in the second extra frame. Blaine Tew pitched a gem in the loss, going 8.1 innings and surrendering just three runs on eight hits in the loss. Dylan Day batted .429 for the weekend to lead the 'Roos offensively and Jared Jenkins hit .333 with two RBI. 

Centenary picked up its first win of the season - marking the victory was the first of head coach Amanda Nordberg's career – with a 7-0 victory over Dallas on Sunday afternoon. The Crusaders claimed the first three meetings of the weekend. Mookie Allison paced the Ladies at the dish with a .462 batting average going 6-for-13 at the plate. Nicole Warren batted .385 over the four-game span. Whitney Patterson drove in a team-best four runs during the weekend with Lysni Unruh pushing two runs across the dish. Unruh recorded 18 strikeouts in 18.2 innings of work while going 1-1 in the circle. 

Dallas opened conference-play with a 3-1 record on the week. On Saturday, in Shreveport, La., the Lady Crusaders won 7-0 (F/7) and then 4-2 (F/9) over Centenary-La. On Sunday, head coach Beth Krysiak's squad split with her alma mater. The navy and white fell 7-0 (F/7), before taking the series with a 5-1 (F/7) victory. Dallas hosts Rust College-Miss. on Tuesday in Irving, Texas. Trinity comes to town later in the week-- Friday (1 p.m. doubleheader; 2x7) and Saturday (12 p.m. doubleheader; 2x7) -- to resume SCAC competition.

Schreiner went 2-2 on the week, splitting with Southwestern University (5-10-1, 2-2 SCAC) The Lady Mountaineers have now doubled their win total from the previous season.  The lady Mountaineers resume play here on Tuesday at 1:00pm against the Sul Ross Lobos

Southwestern opened SCAC conference action this week, facing Schreiner in a four game series. Saturday, Southwestern struggled to get going offensively as they dropped their first two games 8-0 and 7-6. SU's offensive power returned on Sunday as they unloaded for 8-4, 6-3 wins. After the weekend the Pirates move to 5-10-1 on the year and 2-2 in the SCAC. They return home to face Texas Lutheran on Friday and Saturday. 

Texas Lutheran opened up its home schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Calumet College St. Joseph on Wednesday afternoon at New Braunfels Canyon High School. The Bulldogs won game one 3-2 and game two 7-1. The first game of Tuesday's doubleheader held a wild finish and a walk-off ending for the Bulldogs. Trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs and their offense, which had been held in check all game, came alive. With the help of a couple fielding errors by Calumet College, Texas Lutheran plated three in the final inning to steal the win. The two teams matched up again the next day for another doubleheader with Calumet winning the first game 6-3 before Texas Lutheran stormed back to shut the Crimson Wave out 7-0 in the series finale. Three Bulldogs combined for the shutout, with Kimberly Leschber getting the start and throwing the first four innings.

Trinity returned to action for the first time in nearly a month on Saturday, though the scheduled doubleheader was shortened due to rain.The Tigers won a 6-3 decision over Calumet (IN) College of St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon, with the game being called in the fifth due to rain.  Trinity actually rallied with four runs without recording an out, and the game was then called.  Game two was cancelled. Caitlynn Dykes hit a three-run home run to spark the win for the Tigers, breaking a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning.  The team's first home run of the season was also a milestone for the junior, who broke Trinity's all-time record for home runs in a career. Trinity will have a busy Spring Break, playing six games over a span of four days this week.  The Tigers host sixth-ranked East Texas Baptist University on Wednesday afternoon, then will open up SCAC play with a four-game series at the University of Dallas.
