CESAR HERNANDEZ OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a sophomore from Chelsea, Mass., has been selected the SCAC Men's Field Athlete-of-the-Week for meets conducted through Sunday, March 18.

Hernandez had a wonderful start to the 2012 outdoor season at the Rhodes Open Meet this past Saturday. In a predominately division I meet, he placed 10th in the men’s long jump with a mark of 21’5.50”.

This was a foot personal best for Hernandez and this mark ranks him first on the SCAC performance list by 16 inches.

Hernandez also had a great day in the sprinting events where he ran personal bests by more than a second in the 400 and 200 meter dashes.
