JONNY
LAWSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior
forward from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played
from Friday, October 7th through Sunday, October
13th.
Lawson had a hand in five of
Trinity’s ten goals this
weekend, leading the Tigers to shutout wins
over both Dallas and Colorado College.
Lawson scored two goals and an assist on Friday
against Dallas, then followed up with a goal and an assist
against Colorado College on Sunday afternoon. His goal against
Colorado was the eventual game-winner, and on Friday, he had
two goals and an assist to
push Trinity’s 1-0 halftime lead to 4-0 less than 10
minutes into the period.
For the season, Lawson now has a team-best seven goals to go with three assists, and has netted two game-winning goals.
