DUNCAN KEEGAN
OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a junior forward from Signal
Mountain, Tenn., has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 25 through Sunday, October 31.
Keegan gave his team a much needed boost over the
weekend. Keegan stepped it up on Friday
night as the league’s leading scorer, Connor Silvesrti, was
required to sit out a match due to a red card in the previous
match. Keegan netted two goals in the
Warriors 3-2 victory over Birmingham-Southern on Friday night and
then added the opening goal in Hendrix’s 3-0 victory over
Millsaps on Sunday. Keegan put Hendrix on
top early Friday with a penalty kick in the 10th minute. He
then netted his seventh goal of the season in the 23rd minute off a
rebound from about eight yards out.
Keegan scored his final goal of the weekend in the 13th
minute Sunday when he beat the keeper on a one-on-one breakaway
from 20 yards out. Junior forward Colin Thompson volleyed the
ball over the top of the defense to send Keegan
through, forcing the keeper to charge out of the box.
