CHRIS SCHARDON
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from The
Woodlands, Texas, has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
November 1 through Sunday, November 7.
Schardon led the Tiger defense to a pair of SCAC road wins
over the weekend, clinching the SCAC Championship and the automatic
bid to the NCAA Playoffs.
Schardon and the Trinity defense held DePauw to just eight
shots in the game, and the only goal allowed came on a penalty
kick. On Sunday, Schardon led the team to a 1-0 shutout
victory over Centre that clinched the outright SCAC
title.
Schardon, a fifth-year senior who missed most of last year
due to injury, has now been a part of five SCAC Championship teams
in his career.
For the season, Schardon has helped lead Trinity to nine shutouts
this season, giving up just 15 goals in 20 games.
