Riley Schaefer, Texas Lutheran University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 13)

RILEY SCHAEFER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior outfielder from Thorndale, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 29th.

Schaefer put up a .538 batting average after this weekend's three-game conference series versus Austin College.

Schaefer went a combined 7-for-13 over the weekend, with seven runs drove in and seven runs scored for the Bulldogs. Schaefer collected a double, a triple and two home runs in the conference series. He also had two stolen bases. He posted a season-high slugging percentage of 1.667 in the third game of the series.

Schaefer went 2-for-3 in the 14-1 victory over the 'Roos. He produced 1.231 slugging percentage overall. He had 16 total bases, and earned a .571 on base percentage. Schaefer also had four put outs against the Kangaroos.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior catcher Chris Zapata of Centenary College recorded at least one hit and run scored in every game as the Gents won the regular season title last week. Junior outfielder Ben Benavides of Schreiner University hit .500 last week with five runs scored and three runs batted in as SU swept the University of Dallas. Sophomore outfielder Rafe Chaumette of Trinity University finished a busy week with a .429 batting average overall and a .462 (6-13) clip over a three-game weekend series at Centenary.
