John Tucker, Trinity University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 12)

JOHN TUCKER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior infielder from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 22nd.

Tucker led #1 Trinity to a 3-1 record last week, including a three-game SCAC weekend series sweep against the University of Dallas.

Tucker hit .412 (7-17) overall and .417 (5-12) in SCAC play last week, picking up four runs and four RBI and crushing three doubles among his seven hits. After starting the week with a pair of hits in a narrow non-conference loss to Southwestern, Tucker was blanked with an 0-4 performance to start the series with Dallas.

He caught fire in the last two games, though, going 2-4 with a double and three RBI in game two, and then he was 3-4 with two doubles and three runs scored in the series finale.

For the season, Tucker is third on the team with a .333 batting average, collecting 45 hits in 135 at-bats. He has scored 34 runs to go with 30 RBI and is leading the Tigers with 13 doubles on the year.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Hayden Craig of Southwestern University hit .222 last week with three RBI and four runs scored. Sophomore first baseman Tyler Cauley of Texas Lutheran University produced five hits, two doubles, and plated two runs last week to help TLU to a 2-1 series win.
