#SCAC8in8 Tour Returns in September

#SCAC8in8 Tour Returns in September

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - After a one year hiatus, the annual #SCAC8in8 tour will return this September as two members of the league office will travel to all eight schools from September 8-17.

"What started out as a way to promote the 'new' SCAC in 2013 generated so much buzz and excitement we decided to make SCAC8in8 an annual event," said conference commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. "Unfortunately, we were short-handed and couldn't make it happen last year, but now that the conference office is fully staffed again, it was a no-brainer for us to continue this unique promotional vehicle. We think this is a great way to provide our fans a first-hand glimpse of the league's eight quality institutions in a fun and engaging way."

SCAC Assistant Commissioner Katie Mucci (@katiemucci), along with Assistant Director of New Media Rachel Given (@rachelistaaa), will attend various athletics competitions for ten days on the eight member campuses.

The event will be promoted via the conference's Twitter (@SCAC_Sports), Instagram (@SCAC_Sports) and Snapchat (scacsports) accounts. You can also follow the progress of the tour by using the hashtag #SCAC8in8.

The SCAC will again enlist the assistance of a student-athlete representative from each campus to document their experience, which will be posted on the conference's various social media pages.

UPDATE: In response to the devastation that Hurricane Harvey has brought to the Texas Coast - including the unprecedented and ongoing flooding in the Houston area - student representatives will accept donations to the American Red Cross at each stop along the #SCAC8in8 tour. Anyone who makes a donation on site will receive a limited edition #SCACnation t-shirt (while supplies last).

Limited edition #SCAC8in8 prizes will be given out by student reps throughout each visit and can be collected during the home events on each designated day.
