Located in the county seat of suburban Williamson County, and located under an hour from Austin, Georgetown has a population of 47,400 and lays claim to possessing the "Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas." Celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, Georgetown is known for its lovely main street, cool restaurants and bars and fun local shopping.
With the addition of football as a varsity sport, two new 100-yard lighted football practice fields were added to the Southwestern athletic facility portfolio in 2013, and a new track surface was added the following fall around one of the fields. In addition to the track, the Pirate track and field teams were treated with brand new jumping and throwing areas as part of the facility addition.
