NEW ORLEANS, La. - The SCAC had eight women's
cross country teams receive the 2008 USTFCCA All-Academic Team
Award. Only the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and
the New England Small College Athletic Conference had more teams
receive the award.
Centre College, Colorado College, DePauw University, Hendrix
College, Rhodes College, Sewanee-The University of the South,
Southwestern University and Trinity University were all recognized
as USTFCCA All-Academic Teams.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA
Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team
cumulative grade point average.

The USTFCCA also announced its Cross Country All-Academic list with
221 female student-athletes receiving recognition. The SCAC
had 12 student-athletes honored.
Lauren McCafferty and Bekah Rehkamp of Centre
College, Melissa Buckley, Alison Case, Claire Hollis, Ellen
Mail and Leah Seigel of DePauw University, Lolly
Plummer of Hendrix College, Taylor Stephens of Rhodes College,
Hayley Robb of Sewanee-University of the South, Tamra Warner of
Southwestern University and D'Ann Arthur of Trinity University were
all recognized as members of the All-Academic Team.
The award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both
academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award a
student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point
average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their
respective NCAA regional meet.
