
EMMA WHITE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior outside hitter from Lucas, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 10 through Sunday, October 16. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 7)
White averaged 4.11 kills per set (37 total) in the Pirates' three match sweeps this weekend. White never dipped below a .346 kill percentage - finishing at .392 for the weekend - which included a weekend-high .478 attack percentage in the team's 3-0 victory against Centenary.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Maddy Schultz of Texas Lutheran continues to be a force, recording 34 kills for the Bulldogs (3.40 per set) as they swept through this weekend's SCAC divisional. She is currently second in the SCAC with 267 kills. Senior right side Sara Flynn of Trinity led the second-ranked Tigers with a 4.3 points/set average last weekend in the Trinity Invitational, including 23 kills (3.29 per set) on a .487 hitting percentage and a 1.86 blocks/set clip. The senior rightside led Trinity with 12 kills on a .500 hitting clip to sweep Susquehanna and added six blocks for 15 points in the match. Senior outside hitter/right side Trinity Atkins of St. Thomas, in just 11 sets, posted 31 kills (2.82 per set) and 36.5 total points. Contributing an average of 3.3 points per set, Atkins posted a career-high 17 kills against Austin College, as the Celts went 3-0 to jump into fifth place in the SCAC standings.
