Marguerite Spaethling, Colorado College, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 2)

Marguerite Spaethling of Colorado College, a junior middle blocker from Larkspur Calif., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 4th to Sunday September 9th.

Spaethling, following the week in which she was named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, recorded 44 kills and averaged 3.38 kills-per-set. In the Tigers four matches over the weekend, Spaethling posted an impressive .527 hitting percentage. Spaethling also added 15 blocks to collection to help lead her team to four victories over the weekend in which she was named MVP of the Spike It Up Classic.  

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Sophomore outside hitter Mayson Kennon of Austin College put up huge numbers in a pair of wins over the weekend, averaging 4.57 kills-per-set with a .278 hitting percentage along with 2.57 digs-per-set and four total blocks. Kennon also had three service aces and a high of 21 kills in a 3-1 win over Linfield. Senior outside hitter Madeline McKay of Trinity led the fifth-ranked Tiger volleyball team to a 3-2 overall record last week finishing with six kills and three service acesin the conference opener against Schreiner. Over the weekend, McKay was in double figures in kills in all four matches, concluding the weekend with 60 kills and 10 total blocks which earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team at the Trinity Fall Classic.
