COURTNEY BIRKETT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior right side hitter from Newbury Park, CA, has been named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 22nd through Sunday, September 27th.

Birkett led 13th-ranked Colorado College offensively to a 4-0 record, posting 38 kills, averaging 2.92 per set and a .360 attack percentage. She added two aces, 76 assists, 34 digs and three blocks at the SCAC Cross-Divisional in San Antonio, Texas.

Birkett and the Tigers defeated 18th-ranked Southwestern University 3-1 on Sunday where she posted some of her best numbers of the weekend with 16 kills, 27 assists and 14 digs. 

This is Birkett's third Player of the Week honor this season. The Tigers sit atop the conference at 16-1 overall, 7-0 in SCAC play. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior middle blocker Jaime Birzer of the University of Dallas had her biggest weekend of the season for Dallas, breaking double figures in kills all four matches in the SCAC Cross-Divisional hosted at Trinity University. Junior outside hitter Kristin Fording of Texas Lutheran University tallied 19 kills in each of TLU's two wins on Saturday at the SCAC Divisional Tournament. Senior outside hitter Reygan Holloman of Austin College led the team with 2.1 kills-per-set in six matches. Sophomore outside hitter Kirby Smith of Trinity University finished with 64 kills (4.27/set) and 47 digs (3.13/set) over the weekend, hitting an outstanding .322 in the 15 sets played. Junior setter Nikki Welch of Southwestern University posted 98 assists for the Pirates over four matches.
