Kate Brush, Colorado College, Swimmer of the Week (Week 1)

KATE BRUSH OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman from Greenwich, Conn., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the period spanning Saturday, September 21 to Sunday, October 13.

Brush won all three of her events in helping the Tigers to a victory over Southwestern in a dual between the two SCAC programs this weekend in Colorado Springs. Brush posted victories in the 200 free (2:02.64), 200 fly (2:20.71), and 500 free (5:34.79) - with all times at altitude. 

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Rosie Wade of University of the Ozarks had a great opening couple of weeks for the Eagles as the first-year swimmer has already broken four school records. The highlight in the early going was her win in the 1650 free against Hendrix College where she posted a time of 18:54.67 - taking down the old school record while posting a new PR by over a minute. Junior Rehgan Hartsell of Southwestern won the women's 100 breast with a time of 1:11.44 and the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.38. She also helped contribute to winning first in the 200 medley relay against Colorado College.
