MEREDITH LICATA OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from Buffalo, N.Y., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week beginning September 25th.

Licata led the 14th-ranked Tiger women's soccer team to a pair of SCAC road wins over the weekend, defeating both Centenary and Austin College.

Licata tallied three goals and an assist in Trinity's two victories, including the game-winner in Sunday's contest at Austin. Licata also scored the three goals on just six shots, and five of the six shots she took were on goal.

Against Centenary, Licata helped the Tigers answer the game-tying goal scored by Centenary with a first-half score that put Trinity up 3-1 at the time. In Sunday's win over Austin, Licata had two goals and an assist, including the eventual game-winner in the seventh minute. She then assisted on Trinity's next goal, and later scored the team's first goal of the second half to help put the game out of reach.

For the season, Licata has scored six goals and three assists, and Sunday marked her first game-winner of the year. By doubling her season total this weekend, she moves to fourth on the team in goals scored.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman forward Whitney Jackson of the University of Dallas nailed the game-winning goal in Sunday's 1-0 victory at Southwestern University. Her goal came in the 85th minute, as the freshman forward shot 3-of-6 attempts on frame. Senior forward Ruth Blackburn of Schreiner University recorded game winning goals in both of the Mountaineers contests last week.
