COLLEEN MARKEY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior forward/midfielder from Raleigh, N.C., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Co-Player of the Week for matches played Thursday, September 1st through Monday, September 5th.
Markey provided plenty of firepower as the seventh-ranked Tigers opened the season with two shutout victories last week. Trinity (2-0-0) first blanked Our Lady of the Lake University by a score of 8-0. The Tigers then shut out #8 Illinois Wesleyan University 5-0 to finish off the week.
Markey accumulated three goals and one assist over the two games. In the opener against Our Lady of the Lake, Markey chalked up a goal and assist. She scored two goals in the matchup with Illinois Wesleyan, including the eventual game-winner in the fifth minute of play. Markey also found the net in the 58th minute.

Sophomore Jessica Coronado of Texas Lutheran University scored the Bulldog's first 2 goals of the season and recorded 7 total shots.
